  Mountain Real Estate Capital, owned by Peter Fioretti, is the developer of the neighborhood I live in. MREC has refused to fund the reserve account of the HOA, leading to significant HOA due increases. Despite my neighborhood being roughly ten years old, MREC refuses to apply the top coat of black top, creating a driving hazard that has damaged vehicles. They cite "a lack of funds". Further, MREC has attempted to sell the remaining lots, both developed and undeveloped, to a large publicly traded rental company that would build homes to turn them into rentals. If you are considering a neighborhood in which MREC is the developer, I'd think very hard about your decision.
